‘I will obey you, Master’: Teacher accused of sex assault, trying to hypnotize girls with swinging necklace
A grade 3 teacher is accused of sexually assaulting a girl at a Pennsylvania elementary school and trying to hypnotize others using a swinging necklace.
According to reports, James Mentzer, 39, allegedly made one victim repeat the phrase “I will obey you, Master,” as he swung a necklace in front of her face.
Police say the teacher requested girls between eight years old and 11 come to his classroom to record videos for a project. He would record them reading and had some of the students perform a puppet show, according to news channel KFOR4.
Menzter told one student to act out words she was reading using a giraffe puppet and would get angry if she did not read as the giraffe. He also allegedly rubbed the victim’s leg, from her knee to groin area.
Cops in Dauphin County were tipped off in February when two of the students told their parents and Mentzer was put on leave from East Hanover Elementary School during the investigation.
Mentzer has been charged with institutional sexual assault, indecent assault, unlawful contact with a minor and five counts of corruption of minors.
