Idris Elba is reportedly in final negotiations to play the bad guy in The Fast and the Furious spinoff, Hobbs and Shaw.

The Avengers: Infinity War actor will star opposite Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham in the film, which is being directed by Deadpool 2’s David Leitch, a former stuntman, according to Variety.

News of Elba’s casting comes days after it was announced The Crown star Vanessa Kirby will play an MI-5 agent, who just happens to be the sister of Statham’s character Deckard Shaw.

The script for the spinoff has been written by Chris Morgan, while Johnson, Statham, and Neal Moritz will produce. Filming is slated to begin later this year, but plot details are being kept under wraps.
