SABLES-SPANISH RIVERS TOWNSHIP, Ont. — Police say a 66-year-old old northern Ontario man faces charges in connection to alleged sexual assaults against a minor.

Provincial police say they received a report late last month of a sexual assault of a young person by someone known to the family.

They say the incidents have allegedly been “occurring over a period of time.”

Police say they arrested a man from Sables-Spanish Rivers Township — about 100 kilometres southwest of Sudbury.

He has been charged with sexual assault on a person under 16, sexual interference and uttering threats to cause death of bodily harm.

The accused is scheduled to appear in a Espanola, Ont., court on Sept. 17.
