Cardi B slams paparazzi in Australia in Instagram rant
Rapper Cardi B is hitting out at the paparazzi in Australia following a tense confrontation with them over the weekend.
The Bodak Yellow hitmaker arrived to a swarm of photographers in Sydney on Saturday, but the rapper was in no mood to take pictures and covered her head with a blanket.
However after Cardi covered up, she was confronted by the members of the paparazzi that were trying to snap pictures of her.
“You’re in Sydney now, mate, you’re in Australia,” one of the photographers reportedly shouted. “It’s our rules, not yours, buddy. Our rules, not yours. Be clear on that. What’s going on with the blanket, Cardi? You got an identity crisis or something? Give the fans a picture, Cardi.”
Cardi asked the photographers to leave her alone, but one of them reportedly hit out at the 26 year old over the situation with her estranged husband Offset, who she announced her split from earlier this month amid cheating reports.
“No wonder your husband left ya,” the photographer reportedly said.
The rapper’s publicist Patientce Foster confronted the photographer and now Cardi is speaking out about the alleged incident, accusing them of racism.
“So as soon as I got here, you know, paparazzi’s all in my face, and I get that, I understand that,” she said on Instagram Live on Sunday. “But what didn’t sit well with me was this man telling me, ‘You’re in Australia now…you’re playing by our rules.’ It don’t sit well with me when a white man tells me that s—. Like, excuse me? Sir… you think this is the 1800s? Are you crazy? Like, do you think that people are still getting oppressed or something?”
“Then this old lady, she keep asking for a picture but I’m like literally covering my face,” she added. “Then she says something rude, disrespectful to me, like, ‘Oh, that’s why your husband cheated on you,’ and that’s when my publicist got in her face. And you know what she did? (The woman) acted like she was so scared, like a victim, ‘Oh my God, oh my God’.”
