An ex-educator from South Carolina who confessed her love for a 19-year-old student has pleaded guilty to second-degree harassment.

According to The State, former Airport High School assistant principal Dawn Diimmler pleaded guilty on Dec. 21. The guilty plea results in a month stay in jail along with a $200 fine.

The 44-year-old woman is still facing a sexual battery charge for allegedly having sex with the teen on multiple occasions.

If convicted, Diimmler could face up to five years in prison.

It’s alleged Diimmler had sex with the teen twice at school and once at a Columbia, S.C. hotel over the course of a three-month period from March to June 2017.

Court records stated Diimmler reportedly confessed to school officials about having an “inappropriate relationship” with the student and apologized to the teen’s mom via voicemail.

“I have listened to those recordings, in which you admit to (the student’s mother) that you are in love with her son, and in which you apologize to (her) for your inappropriate relationship with him,” school superintendent William James Jr., wrote in the woman’s termination letter.

Previous to Diimmler’s firing, the Cola Daily noted the woman had “glowing performance reviews” at Airport High School, where she had worked since 2012.
