‘#babyforsale’: Hilary Duff pleads for ‘magic tricks’ to deal with daughter’s colic
Hilary Duff has turned to her Instagram fans to ask for “magic tricks” to help her two-month-old daughter cope with colic.
The 31-year-old actress welcomed daughter Banks with boyfriend Matthew Koma in October, and has since been getting used to life with a newborn.
While Banks is doing well, she is struggling with colic – a condition caused by wind or obstruction in the intestine which leads to severe pain in the abdomen – and seeing her little girl in pain is tough for the Younger star.
Admitting she was struggling to watch Banks scream constantly, Hilary asked her fans: “Calling all parents of colic babies…..this ends right? Can you ever set them down with out them screaming OR waking up (sic)? We have read everything the internet has to offer… nothing besides nursing basically every hour or less helps! We have done all the obvious things ..please leave magic tricks in comments. Oh and happy new year lol (laugh out loud) #thankGforfilters #babyforsale !!! #anytakers??”
Among suggestions from fans were taking probiotics, gripe water, trying craniosacral therapy or using a bassinet with a vibrating function.
However, other remarks were less helpful, with one writing: “Sadly it’s just a waiting game. Nothing helps. On the plus side, much like childbirth, you’ll come through it and the memories will fade.”
Hilary’s plea for advice comes recently after she admitted caring for a newborn as well as her six-year-old son Luca, who she shares with ex-husband Mike Comrie, is “mayhem”.
“It’s insane and amazing at the same time and you just do it,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “You just figure out a way to do it. But I don’t know if we call it balance yet. It’s mayhem!”
