Ruby Rose has kicked off 2019 with a big hit on her hands — the Australian actress’ turn as Batwoman has been picked up for a new TV series.
The Orange is the New Black star scored the role of Kate Kane and her superheroine alter ego last summer and bosses at The CW are so impressed with what they’ve seen so far, they have given a pilot order to Batwoman.
Game of Thrones and The Flash writer/director has been tapped to direct the pilot.
Rose’s Kane will become the first gay lead character of a live-action superhero series when she makes her debut as Batwoman during an Arrow/The Flash crossover TV event in May.
